Another week, another giant pile of hand dyed fat eighths! This dyeing is getting to be a habit with me.
I do have a plan for all these hand dyed fabrics and it looks something like this:
Yes, I’m getting myself into another English paper piecing project before the last one is even finished. Now, before anyone lectures me (not that you very nice people would ever do that), let me say that my plan is to stitch on this new project only at work during my lunch hour. The EPP stars that I last showed you here are my “at home” hand sewing project (currently being worked on while binge watching Sons of Anarchy on Netflix).
I am a little frustrated at my lack of originality on this project. Well, I thought I was being original until I googled “ferris wheel quilt” and found similar projects with similar fabrics. One even had Madrano Road as the hexagons like I am doing. Geesh! I swear I came up with this before I saw the photo. Really! Do you ever feel like there are no more original ideas left to be had in the quilting world?
Back to this week’s hand dyeing; let’s check out some of my successful pieces.
I have one more weekend of dyeing, then I’m going to consider myself done. I have about 20 dyed pieces that I don’t like or that are duplicative that I’m going to over dye. I’m really excited to see how they come out.
