Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses Block

Here’s the problem with being a craft/quilt blogger this time of year.  Every work in progress is some secret project that you are working on for a present that you can’t share on your blog!  Geez, it makes posts few and far between.

I did manage to finish my first Lucy Boston Patchwork of the Crosses Block for myself.  I’m in a swap and have done one other that I haven’t posted because I haven’t mailed it yet.  I decided that I would like to make at least one block for myself for every block I make for someone else.

I am in love with my pink, green, orange and yellow color scheme.  I can’t wait to see what comes out of other people’s stashes in this colorway.

These blocks are small.  Only 8.25 inches across from tip to tip.  Even being in a swap with 12 people and making one block myself each month, this will not be a very big quilt.  I’m thinking of setting it with dark green.  Hmmm,  we’ll see…

  1. I so know what you mean about the holiday/gift projects you can’t reveal. I want to show them off…but don’t want to give away the surprise. You’ll have to do a big reveal post after the Holidays.

Beautiful block, and I love the colors! I still haven’t braved a EPP project, but it’s blocks like these that tempt me to it. I just seems more complicated that it probably is so I don’t try it.
