Hello Cyber World, I’ve Missed You

Well, hello!  I’m here!  I live!  After disappearing for a few weeks, I’m reemerging back into the world of the Internet.  I just burned out on computers.  It happened fast and furious.  I just couldn’t look at my laptop one day.  So, I didn’t.

But now the holidays are over, my wonderful winter break has ended (I had from December 21st to January 1st off from work—gosh it was glorious), and I’m ready to get back to my cyber world.  I’ve been easing in slowly by catching up on my blogs, making some comments and entering some giveaways, but now it’s time to get back to my own blog.

During my absence, I’ve been super creative, but haven’t taken pictures of anything.  I know!  I’m a LOSER! But here’s a list of what I’ve done:

  • 3 pillowcases for my friend Joe
  • 4 pairs of pajama pants for my brother’s family for Christmas
  • A 90 x 90 Harley-Davidson t-shirt quilt from beginning to end (a commission)
  • A nifty wallet for me from this pattern
  • Finished my bowling bag inspired purse, but am still not happy with it (more to come on that)
  • Finished piecing the top of my EPP Jeweled Stars quilt and almost finished adding the borders (you’ll see that soon)
  • Baked about a dozen loaves of fresh bread based on the “no knead” method (Google it, you’ll thank me)
  • Ate about a dozen loaves of fresh bread based on the method of being a glutton
  • Started not one, but two raised garden beds (hey, I’m in Arizona, this is the time of year we garden around here)
  • Avoided all manner of housework in favor of doing fun things
  • Took 12 naps, one for each day I was off from work… sigh…

I’ve been thinking about what I’d like to do in 2014.  I see all these bloggers declaring their fabric diets and think, “more power to them,” however; I will be here supporting the economy with my fabric purchases.  I just don’t think I’m up for the self-denial routine.

I’ve also seen a lot of folks declaring that this is the year that they will finish those UFOs and WIPs or whatever you want to call them.  I laugh at the idea of me saying that!  I started making a list of my unfinished works and there are 15 quilts on there and I’m still coming up with projects to add. I’d need a decade to get that done.

The one thing I came up with is I would like to start journaling my creative process.  I’ve really been inspired by the journaling work of Patty over at Radish Blossoms.  I’m hoping I can adapt this style to documenting my thoughts, ideas and inspiration in the studio.  Thanks, Patty!

This has been a very wordy and very imageless post.  I’ll be back with projects soon.  Happy New Year, everyone

Sarah

  1. I’ve been waiting patiently for you to come back and show us your next gorgeous little thing. Welcome back. I’m anxious to see your EPP quilt top, it will give me the kick up the backside I need to keep going on mine!

    • LOL, I was on a roll, but now I’m back at work so I’m sure my output will slow down. And yes, I would definitely encourage you to get back on the quilting bandwagon!

    • I’ll get some pictures just as soon as the borders are on. I’m hellbent on mitering the corners and it is a bee-yatch. It will not defeat me! LOL

  2. Fellow glutton here! I think I am over it, though! Everything always sounds like more fun than housework but I must! Journaling has been a new passion for me. A creative and fun outlet, checking out radish blossoms now!
